A heavy rainstorm is like a volcanic eruption. It arouses the Eros principle in men--most probably because they are faced with apparent annihilation, and their primal instinct is to connect with one another, assure themselves that everything will be all right, acknowledge that they are equal in birth and in death, and that there is no one, more powerful being than them but Nature herself.
