I finally found time to watch Chronicle, a DVD my sister Sylvia sent me from Sydney. It begins with a young man documenting a day in his life with his video camera, shot a la Blair Witch Project. He and two friends discover something deep underground and develop telekinesis. Their power escalates. The movie then sheds its stream-of-consciousness treatment and ends like a male Carrie. This movie with simulated spontaneity and crudeness contains some of the most polished and spectacular special effects I have ever seen!
