"Good morning, sir Tony. "I had a dream last night. I was going to a healing center (acupuncture center) for the first time. I found it on the side of a highway. It didn't look like a healing center because it was just a plain and crude building made of concrete with plants by the door. I had the thought in my dream that I had passed through this place before but I didn't have a clue that it was an acupuncture clinic. It looked more like a housing project built by the government. "When I entered it was dark and everything looked unfinished but old. There was a big empty space in the middle with a wide concrete staircase to the left. It led up to more darkness. A man was walking along one of the hallways and I told him I was looking for the clinic. This man looked slightly old, with white unkempt beard and hair. He was wearing a tattered sleeveless shirt and he definitely did not look very trustworthy. "He pointed to the staircase telling me it was the way to the clinic. He offered to bring me there himself. At this point my phone rang and you were calling. I don't know how it happened but all of a sudden you became the 'healer' I was going to visit. I told you that I was about to go upstairs to meet you but you caught me just in time to say IT IS NOT THE WAY TO THE CLINIC. You told me not to go with the man and (here it became vague) you told me how to get to you. "I woke up at this point. I felt disappointed because I wanted to know what would happen, find out where you were, and get my treatment--so I slept again with the intention of finishing this dream. But it didn't happen. I dreamt of something else after that. "What do you think of my dream, sir Tony? Thank you for reading... (Hope I didn't waste your time!)"

Hello _____!

Old buildings, directions to the left, and darkness always symbolize your Unconscious. The old man is your Shadow, who always resides in the Unconscious. It is enticing you to explore the depths of your Unconscious because therein lie the golden implements that can make you creative and productive to the fullest. The Shadow is always scary and unreadable. Only after you Confront it can it ever be your Ally.

In this dream, I represent your Conscious--the rational side that discourages you from taking risks. That your psyche chose me to be the personification of your Conscious indicates that you are not ready, or are unwilling, to Confront your Shadow and explore your Unconscious at this time. This resistance is also the reason you are unable to pick up from where you left off in the dream.

Ironically, that you "had passed through this place before" means that you were brought back to the time when you were my student, when you first resisted your Shadow, and you wonder now what would have happened had you taken that risk.
